The VIII open international chess tournament 
"MEMORIAL OF M.I.CHIGORIN" 
Saint-Petersburg, 31 October (arrival) - 10 November 2000, Swiss system, 9 rounds with one day off.

 

On 31st October there will be the solemn opening of the tournament to honor 150-years of M.I.Chigorin, who was the founder of the Russian chess school. On the 10th November in the evening the tournament will be closed.

Accommodation conditios.

The grandmasters having FIDE rating (on 1.07.2000) 2600 and higher are accepted by the organizers for the hotel fee (1-room) and meals.
Other grandmasters are accepted by the organizers for the hotel fee (2-room) and meals.
The international masters with rating 2500 and higher are accepted without tournament fee.
Other international masters pay the tournament fee:

rating: 2450 and higher - 10 $ 2300 and higher - 40 $
2400 and higher - 20   < 2300 - 50 $
2350 and higher - 30 $

The players without the title of international masters are accepted on their own account and pay the tournament fee:

rating: 2500 and higher - 10 $ 2250 and higher - 60 $
2450 and higher - 20 $ 2200 and higher - 70 $
2400 and higher - 30 $ < 2200 - 80 $
2350 and higher - 40 $ without any rating - 100 $
2300 and higher - 50 $

In case of joint placings all prizes will be shared equally between all participants. Additional prizes are set (for the best result in the range 2400-2499, 2300-2399, < 2300 if there are not less than 10 participants in each range). In the case of points equality the Buhgolts coefficient will be calculated. Participants may receive only one prize.
