Round 5. Tie-Breaks
Grischuk continues to fight alone

Only one Russian player still continues his performance at the championship. Having defeated Tkachiev, he will present Moscow in the semi-final. Other participants are Anand, Shirov and Adams. All prognoses give preference to Anand and Shirov. They have higher ratings and got over successfully all difficulties of previous rounds. Only one trifle remains, to win again. Both finalists of the Women’s Championship are from China. Women’s chess is extremely strong there nowadays, the Georgian wonder went down in history. Our unrest about the match Anand – Khalifman justified. Khalifman failed to win the sixth game of the second tie break. A draw. He could have won it, but failed. We were so upset that barely watched other matches.
