73rd St.Petersburg Men's Championship
GM Valery Loginov and the last year winner of St. Petersburg Championship Evgeny Shaposhnikov shared the first place this year on the St. Petersburg Championship. Under additional rate data (Berger coefficient) V. Loginov has become a Champion for the first time. The excellent start (5 wins in 6 rounds) provided a lead for him during all the tournament. In the course of the event, it seemed that 2 points lag would provide him a victory before the end of the tournament. But, two losses in the end kept the sport intrigue till the Championship was finished.
